Open lecture by a leading scientist in the field of optics and biophotonics Professor Igor Meglinski (Oulu, Finland)

As part of the activity of the student department of SPIE "Orel State University SPIE Student Chapter", an open lecture was given by the leading scientist in the field of optics and biophotonics, the head of the Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques laboratory of the University of Oulu (Finland), Professor Igor Meglinski. An interesting lecture on the topic "Dynamic light scattering for non-invasive diagnosis of blood microcirculation" was read. Igor Meglinski has been engaged in research in the field of biophotonics for a long time, developing various biosensors, nanosensors, new diagnostic methods and their applications in biology, ecology, medicine, agriculture, etc.

The lecture was remembered with all the ease and simplicity of presentation, it was full of new knowledge and discoveries. After the lecture, a seminar was held in the laboratory of biomedical photonics, reports of bachelors, masters and postgraduates conducting their scientific research in this field of science were presented. The possibilities of cooperation on various subjects developed at our university were discussed.

Similar visits by foreign scientists are a great contribution to the development of the interdisciplinary scientific direction of biomedical photonics, which is actively developing in our university as part of Scientific-Educational Center «Biomedical Engineering» and University Clinic. It allows our students and teachers to deepen their knowledge in various fields of science and to establish international cooperation more closely.
