Victory in the regional competition RFBR-Ural

In May 2017, the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Perm Krai supported a scientific project involving the employees of the laboratory of biomedical photonics at the University Clinic (I.N. Makovik, I.O. Kozlov, A.V. Dunaev). The applicant organization is Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Perm), the project manager is a research fellow of the Laboratory of Physical Hydrodynamics I.A. Mizeva.

The interdisciplinary project "Oscillatory processes in the microvascular bed of human under normal and pathological conditions" ("RFBR-Ural", 17-41-590560 р_а) is centered around the research, development and implementation of new methods of the human blood microcirculation system non-invasive diagnostics. It is in the microcirculatory system that systemic disorders occur during the development of such serious diseases as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, etc. The project team united specialists in the hydrodynamics of blood circulation (Mizeva I.A, Goldobin D.S., IMSS UrB RAS), endocrinology (Prof. Smirnova E.N., Perm State Medical University), developers of diagnostic devices (Podtaev S.Yu., the company "FM Diagnostics").

As part of the work, the authors planned to combine for the first time several methods of non-invasive assessment of the state of the microcirculation system, such as laser Doppler flowmetry, contact thermometry and optical tissue oximetry. This approach can provide additional information about the microhemocirculation system and lead to the creation of new medical methods for disorders diagnosing.

We wish success to the project team!
