Seminars and master classes in section "Biomedical Optics and Photonics in Clinical Practice" of the International Research and Practical Conference "Translational Medicine"

December 15-17, 2017 the International Research and Practical Conference "Translational Medicine" was held at Orel State University. Employees of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics participated in the co-organization of the conference and section "Biomedical Optics and Photonics in Clinical Practice".

 

At the plenary session 4 reports were read by the collaborators of our Center:

– Head of Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques Laboratory, University of Oulu (Finland), Professor Igor Meglinski made a presentation on "Optical biopsy: emerging technologies for early cancer diagnosis and non-invasive brain imaging";

– Head of the Optoelectronics & Biomedical Photonics Laboratory, Aston University (Birmingham, Great Britain), Professor Edik Rafailov presented the latest results in the field of development of compact lasers for diagnostic purposes in his report "Non-invasive biomedical research and diagnostics enabled by innovative compact lasers";

– General Director of SPE "LAZMA" Ltd. Sidorov V.V. presented a report "A new approach to diagnosing dynamics of treatment. Joint analysis of the results of instrumental control of tissue changes using laser technologies in the doctor's office and at home";

– Senior Researcher of the National Medical Research Center for Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Fedorovich A.A. made a presentation "Microvascular bed of human skin as an object of research. New opportunities".

 

     

 

     

 

In total, in "Biomedical Optics and Photonics in Clinical Practice" section more than 30 reports were presented by representatives of ITMO University (St. Petersburg), Institute of Cell Biophysics of Russian Academy of Science (Pushchino), Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Science (Perm), National Medical Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after N.N. Priorov (Moscow), Saratov National Research State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky (Saratov), Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Moscow). During the conference, prospects for further cooperation and joint projects were discussed.

 

 

December 17-19, a series of seminars and master classes on how to receive and process biomedical signals was organized in Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics. They were held as part of implementation of the strategic project "National Science and Technology Center of Biomedical Photonics". The topics were also high-speed video capillaroscopy and contact thermometry.

 

Employees of the Department of Computer Photonics and Video Informatics at ITMO University Margaryants N.B. and Volkov M.V. held a scientific seminar on "Development of a system for recording and analyzing the parameters of the capillary blood flow of the nail bed." Joint experimental studies of simultaneous recording of capillary blood flow of the nail bed and a signal of laser Doppler flowmetry were performed.

 

 

Employee of the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics of the Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Science Mizeva I.A. presented a seminar for the staff of our Center and students of Instrumentation, metrology and certification department. The topic was "The use of wavelet analysis for the study of the microcirculation system." During the seminar, the mathematical foundations of the wavelet apparatus, its features and basic applications in the analysis of the functional state of the microcirculation system were shown. After discussing the theoretical aspects, a master class was held on the basics of data analysis and work of device for the early diagnosis of vascular diseases "Microtest LTH-100WF", developed by the company "FM-Diagnostics" (Perm, Russia).
