3 students of Orel State University were awarded scholarships of the International Society for Optics and Photonics SPIE

The students of Orel State University who are actively involved in research activities of the Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics and the Cell Physiology and Pathology Laboratory were awarded prestigious scholarships of the international society for optics and photonics SPIE - SPIE Optics and Photonics Education Scholarship.


The awards were given to Elena Zharkikh - 2nd year postgraduate student, majoring in "Photonics, instrument engineering, optical and biotechnical systems and technologies", Valery Shupletsov - 2nd year master's student of "Instrument engineering" specialization of the Department of Instrument Engineering, Metrology and Certification, and Angelina Dolgikh - 2nd year student of Medical Institute.


The scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding students for their contribution to optics, photonics or related fields of science. A total of 78 scholarships were awarded by SPIE in 2021, 10 of which were awarded to Russian students. This award was made possible thanks to the activity of the SPIE Student Chapter in our University.
