Popular-scientific lectures of educational project "Kurilka Gutenberga"

March 2, 2018 lectures of educational project "Kurilka Gutenberga" (Gutenberg’s Smoking Room) were held in Orel for the first time.

"Kurilka Gutenberga" is a non-commercial project dedicated to the popularization of science and culture. Now the project is considered the largest organizer of popular-scientific events in Russia.

Employees of our university gave 2 lectures. Director of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics Dunaev A.V. read the lecture "The Possibilities of Light in Medicine". The lecture showed the main trends and applications of optics and photonics in medicine.

Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Chemistry and Biotechnology Vinokurov A.Yu. read a lecture "Extremes of the microworld: amusing deviations from a norm or new prospects for biotechnology", which reflected the main breakthrough directions of biotechnology, using the potential of living systems.

Visitors showed interest towards presented lectures of our colleagues.
