John Kiel scholarship and participation in SPIE Photonics West 2020
An employee of the Laboratory of Cell Physiology and Pathology of Orel State University and the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of Sechenov University, a research associate of the scientific department of Retinoids company Gennadii Piavchenko is the first Russian who was awarded the prestigious John Kiel Award. The award was received for potential contribution in the field of biomedical photonics and optics (for joint work with the R&D Center of Biomedical Photonics).
Gennadii Piavchenko also held the oral talk at the world's most prestigious international symposium on photonics and optoelectronics SPIE Photonics West 2020 (San Francisco, USA, 2020) at the BiOS conference.
Gennadii presented the report "Brain metabolism changes in cases of impacted breathing or blood circulation in rodents evaluated by real time optical spectroscopy methods" (G. Piavchenko, E. Seryogina, K. Kandurova, V. Shupletsov, O. Stelmashchuk, E. Zherebtsov, V. Dremin, A. Alekseyev, A. Dunaev, I. Meglinski) in Optical Biopsy XVIII: Toward Real-Time Spectroscopic Imaging and Diagnosis section. Colleagues were greatly interested in the work. The opportunities for further joint research were discussed.
