September 17, 2018 the open lecture by Professor Kirill Larin (Biomedical Optics Laboratory, University Of Houston, Texas, USA) was held in Orel State University. The topic of lecture was "Structural and Functional Imaging of Tissues with Optical Coherence Tomography/Elastography".

Employees of the Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics Irina Makovik and Elena Zharkikh, who is also a Master's student of the new direction "Biomedical Photonics and electronics", participated in the "International School on Light Science and Technologies", held from 25 to 29 June 2018 at the Menendez Pelayo International University.

The article "Noninvasive control of the transport function of fluorescent coloured liposomal nanoparticles" published in Laser Physics Letters journal (Q1) was selected by IOP Publishing for including in the Highlights Collection 2017 in category "Laser Methods in Chemistry, Biology, Medicine and Ecology".

Trainee-researcher of R&D Center of Biomedical Photonics Elena Zharkikh, studying for master's degree in "Biomedical photonics and electronics" direction, passed a competitive selection for achieving a scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation for foreign education.

Hero of Russia, honorary citizen of Orel, cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin visited Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics of Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev during the Second University WorldSkills Championship "OGUSKILLS2018".

Trainee researcher of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics Evgeniya Seryogina took part in the 22nd International Pushchino School-Conference of Young Scientists "BIOLOGY - SCIENCE OF THE XXI CENTURY" (April 23-27, 2018), which was held at Pushchino Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
