About
Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics is a structural subdivision of the State Federal-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Education "Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev" founded within the framework of the strategic project of the flagship university on September 29, 2017. R&D Center of Biomedical Photonics was formed on the basis of the Scientific-educational center "Biomedical Engineering" which was founded on January 28, 2010.The major aim is the growth of scientific school for the development of inspection methods and devices for biomedical photonics, science intensive production commercialization, improvement of the training personnel base, broadening of international cooperation in educational, knowhow and research activity in the field of biomedical photonics.
Principal activity:
- Management and implementation of research activities;
- Management and implementation of consultancy for healthcare agencies;
- Management and implementation of post-secondary technical training on biomedical optics and instrument photonics;
- Management and implementation of scientific and technical products, educational and consultancy services quality review in conformity with regulatory documentation;
- Management and implementation of students scientific efforts and scientific manpower developments.
Principal goals:
- Invention and transfer of research and development products (R&D):
- Formation and implementation of consulting projects;
- Formation and implementation of supplementary education programs (advanced training and professional retraining);
- Development and implementation of activities to promote the center's services related to the invention and transfer of research and development products (R&D), consulting services, implementation of supplementary education programs in the field of biomedical photonics and instrument engineering;
- Formation and implementation of material, technical and information support of the center's activities;
- Participation in training of scientific personnel of Orel State University named after I.S. Turgenev;
- Supervision of student R&D.
Key R&D policies:
- Metrological support of devices for laser Doppler flowmetry;
- Methods and means for diagnostics the functional state of peripheral vessels;
- Methodological provision and instrumentation of fluorescence spectroscopy of biological tissue in vivo;
- Physical and technical aspects of low-level laser therapy.
