The victory of our University team in RSF competition

According to the results of 2018 competition for grants of Russian Science Foundation in priority areas of RSF activity "Conducting of fundamental scientific research and exploratory scientific research by individual scientific groups", the project of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics team "Clinical and experimental substantiation of multiparametric optical biopsy of hepatopancreatoduodenal zone organs for minimally invasive surgical operations" was supported.

Joint research with ITMO University

March 19-24, 2018, as part of the strategic project "National Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics", colleagues from ITMO University N.B. Margaryants and M.V. Volkov conducted joint research at Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics with new experimental equipment.

Presentation of the new laboratory of R&D Center of Biomedical Photonics

Development of the newest technologies of optical non-invasive diagnostics of blood supply and life support of biological tissues in the new laboratory will promote methods for early diagnosis of disorders in such socially important diseases as diabetes, abdominal diseases, and rheumatological disorders. The development of new competencies will be aimed at improving the educational, scientific and innovative activities of the university.

International Photonics Symposium SPIE "Photonics West 2018" (San Francisco, USA)

At the SPIE international symposium Photonics West 2018 in San Francisco, USA, as part of BiOS conference (section "Dynamics and Fluctuations in Biomedical Photonics XV"), the poster "Fibre-optic probe for fluorescence diagnostics with blood influence compensation" was presented. This is the result of joint scientific work of Orel State University and Aston University (Birmingham, Great Britain).

New projects of our Center – the RFBR grant, grant and scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation

Employees of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics became the winners of the competition of initiative projects of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the grant competition of the President of the Russian Federation for the state support of young Russian scientists and a contest for scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation in 2018-2020 for young scientists and post-graduate students, performing research and development in priority areas of modernization of the Russian economy.

The third place in All-Russian competition of masters’ graduation theses of 2017 on the enlarged group of training directions 12.00.00 "Photonics, instrumentation, optical, biotechnical systems and technologies"

Postgraduate student of the Institute of Instrumentation, Automation and Information Technologies Igor Kozlov and post-graduate student of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Biotechnology Maria Filina became the prize-winners of the 22nd All-Russian competition of masters’ graduation theses of 2017 in the enlarged group of higher education training directions 12.00.00 "Photonics, instrumentation, optical, biotechnical systems and technologies".

The first place in the All-Russian competition of Bachelors’ diploma theses in the field "Biotechnical systems and technologies"

The student of the "Instrumentation, metrology and certification" chair, trainee-researcher of the R&D center of biomedical photonics Zharkikh E.V. took the 1st place in the 22nd All-Russian competition of Bachelors’ Diploma theses in 2017 on the enlarged group of training directions 12.00.00 "Photonics, instrumentation, optical and biotechnical systems and technologies" (the supervisor is Dr Andrey Dunaev).

Employee of R&D center of biomedical photonics will participate in EDUFI Winter School in University of Helsinki

Trainee-researcher of of R&D center of biomedical photonics Igor Kozlov was selected to take part in the 22nd Winter School of Finnish National Agency for Education EDUFI “Big Numbers, Small Numbers – from Data to Understanding” which will be held on March 5-10, 2018 in University of Helsinki (Finland).

Seminars and master classes in section "Biomedical Optics and Photonics in Clinical Practice" of the International Research and Practical Conference "Translational Medicine"

December 15-17, 2017 the International Research and Practical Conference "Translational Medicine" was held at Orel State University. Employees of Research and Development Center of Biomedical Photonics participated in the co-organization of the conference and section "Biomedical Optics and Photonics in Clinical Practice". December 17-19, a series of seminars and master classes on how to receive and process biomedical signals was organized.
